Hey, everyone.
I’m Anthony “Tony” Wayne.
Some people call me A-Dub. My closest friends call me Tony Dub.
Welcome to tonydub.club, where I’ve taken the completely reasonable step of proclaiming myself the General of Jest.
I’ve been around these parts for a while. A long while, actually.
There’s a decent chance you’ve worn my name on your shirt, your hat, or even your socks. Maybe it was on a football jersey, a cross-country hoodie, a band uniform, or one of those spirit shirts you bought because your kid needed something for Friday.
They named the whole school district after me, which feels like a pretty strong endorsement.
Some of you were born here. Some of you moved here later. Some of you still introduce yourselves by telling me which housing development you live in, like I’ve memorized all of them. Folks, I remember when half of them were just fallen timbers. I was there.
Doesn’t matter.
If you’re from Anthony Wayne country, you’re part of the club.
Back in my younger days, I spent most of my time trolling the British. These days, my targets are a little closer to home: local government, construction projects, soccer moms, youth sports, roundabouts, my school district, development proposals, Facebook comment sections, and, whenever necessary, the citizens of nearby towns.
Nothing here should be taken too seriously. In fact, don’t believe a word I say. This is satire. The places may be real. Some of the names might even be real. The stories probably aren’t.
Especially Tony Dub.
And if there’s something happening around here that I’m missing, feel free to tell me about it. A strange decision. A ridiculous rumor. A development proposal that absolutely deserves closer inspection.
I can’t promise I’ll cover it.
But I can promise I’ll judge it.
Welcome to the club.
